View Full Version : MAanglers.com versus NewEnglandFishing.net
I met the owner of NewEnglandFishing.net whose name is Mike this morning and hes a great guy. After talking for a while we decided on having a friendly competition between the two sites since both are mostly Massachusetts Fisherman members in each one. We now have a competition for the month of August so all MAanglers.com members make us proud.Below are some more details and rules regarding this competition.
August 1st through 31st we are competing to catch the biggest Striper, Largemouth, and Smallmouth Bass. Whats better then bragging right when it comes to fishing?!

A couple rules:
-Must have a photo to post either here or on www.newenglandfishing.net (http://www.newenglandfishing.net/)
-Must have length and girth measurements.
-Try to get the weight if possible
Prizes at this time to along with the bragging rights!

This is gonna be good. I was at Bill's Bait this morning too. Out of shiners yet again. I'd fire their delivery guy if I were them. But regardless, let's show up the greater New England site and rock the lunkers.

i am wired, i' m at the cape in n. sandwich from the 18-26. hot sheet, mornings on the canal tossing plugs at daybreak, chunking mackeral till noon (depends on tide), tossing eels at night in the canal, stripers yes. welcome mikey, will there be two catagories, boat and surf for the stripers?
From my understanding as long as you catch them in the state of Massachusetts and in the month of August everything is legal. Good luck down there at the Cape.

We have some of our own big fish lake's/ponds out here in Western Mass. So I am not worried about losing. But using live bait is to easy it should involve artificials only.

I'm pretty sure the only winning category caught on live bait will be the striper...eels for sure
the others will be artificials...Thumbsup

Well, I guess thats why you're not going to win... Like Matt, said, (I will type slow so you can understand and use big letters with the important word) the WINNING striper will be caught on eels.

Thats a great fish, but I'm not giving up just yet we still have plenty of time to take a fish bigger. Don't give up. Gonna hit the Ct. River tonight up at the Oxbow in a little while with Ryan311. Target Big Bass till dark. I hope the wife doesn't care that I've been spending more time on the river than in the yard. But I just got caught up time to go and play. Tongue1 Tongue1
I've updated the Calender with a pic of the fish and the current leaders. Check it out if you haven't seen the fish yet. Just click on the link below the forum.
