I met the owner of NewEnglandFishing.net whose name is Mike this morning and hes a great guy. After talking for a while we decided on having a friendly competition between the two sites since both are mostly Massachusetts Fisherman members in each one. We now have a competition for the month of August so all MAanglers.com members make us proud.Below are some more details and rules regarding this competition.

August 1st through 31st we are competing to catch the biggest Striper, Largemouth, and Smallmouth Bass. Whats better then bragging right when it comes to fishing?!

Post your entires here and I will update the leader board.

A couple rules:
-Must have a photo to post either here or on www.newenglandfishing.net (http://www.newenglandfishing.net)
-Must have length and girth measurements.
-Try to get the weight if possible

Prizes at this time to along with the bragging rights!

-9" MS Slammer to the biggest Largemouth from Bills Bait and Tackle Seekonk Ma.
-$25 Gift certificate donated from www.maanglers.com (http://www.maanglers.com/) for the biggest Striper
-$25 Girft certificate for Ric's Archers & Anglers Leominster/West Boylston for biggest Smallmouth Bass

Current standings :

Striped Bass - ???? Have yet to be entered

Largemouth Bass - 5lb 6 oz by Billybass

Smallmouth Bass - 5lb 3 oz by Billybass

This should be a really fun competition so good luck to all that enter. Thumbsup

Matt,
Your board has quite a bit more members but we are up for the challenge. Most of your guys are from Eastern MA and were all mostly from WMASS but we will show who are the stronger fishermen. HAHAHA

should be for some friendly fun but we do have some real hog hunters on the other site so its gonna take a largie over 7 and a smallie over 5 to win as for the stripers i think that may be a little closer but we have a few ringers.....lol all in good fun though

Quick question, Are members of NEF going to have pic's of fish posted on our site visa versa we have pics of our fish posted on their site?

Another idea while I'm thinking, I think the tactic, body of water, date of catch, water temp, ect should all be included in the catch report.

fisher16

I added it to the Calender Buckmanjr. You never know so far its the biggest. It seems alot of those eastern guys only fish freshwater. If I lived that close to the salt it would be salt only. I am trying to check the NEF site but there appears to be a issue logging in. Any NEF guys here that can update us still looks like DaveL fish is the current leader due to it being on the home page of the site.

42 1/4 inch 27 pound. I think the difference is, they have been a club for a long time, also they have like 500 people fishing for them to win this thing, we have like 15-20 members actively posting and fishing and 380 lurkers!!!!
