is there a way to relieve the pressure in fish that is pulled from the depths? i have heard this on a bass show i watched but they didn't explain how this is done. specifically you pull a laker off the bottom at quabbin and it's a slot fish you have to release, the problem is you bring it up from 100-130' and some will (expand) blow up. i have held the fish working it for several moments and as soon as you let it go it's a floater for the eagles. I think with a pin or needle you can release the pressure but not sure. the head first thrust does not work on this kind of problem.

that may be usefull for you. I personally have never done the needle thing, because I always catch fish that are big enough Tongue1 . Here is a site that explains techniques on how to release deep water fish.
