there's plenty of parking available at the canal but once your on the bike path, either side, you still have 7 miles of paved double width road to travel to your spot on either side. as you see my current ride has a basket straped to the back, two 1 7/8" pvc's plastic tie's in the corners with the basket cut underneath the tubes for your rod handles to go thru, and sitting inside the basket is my bait (pogies, mackeral) holder. on front i strap a carry all (hooks, weights, plugs, etc.) the second pic shows how you come back to your vehicle.http://photos.maanglers.com/albums/userpics/10026/thumb_canal%20transportation.jpg (http://photos.maanglers.com/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=10026&pos=0)http://photos.maanglers.com/albums/userpics/10026/thumb_MaAnglers.jpg (http://photos.maanglers.com/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=10026&pos=4) 2nd picture was my first bike, no gears.

Haha, my father had a similar setup for the bike trail in Barrington, RI, except he added a "trailer" which could hold a trash bucket in tow with all bait and gear inside or strapped to the outside. I wish I had a picture of it. Worked perfect for him, but then he found someone willing to let him park nearby. Now he walks, but he still has a dolly to cart around his load of gear.

Thats awesome...now you need to put a hitch on with a flatbed trailer to carry all the fish you catch!!!
