A while back I started a similar thread, showing off my Mitchell 300, now in its 3rd generation of use. I'll repost the image, just because I love to remember this PB rainbow from last year - a very fat and meaty 16" from the Deerfield at Bardwell's Ferry.

It is one tough reel, and I don't doubt that it'll see a few more generations of use.

must have made your day, nice fish. i love the 300's, have a couple and like to pick them up when fishers are getting rid of them at fleas and tag sales.

I have 2 Mitchell 300's about 40 years old. The things just won't quit. I also have a couple of late 50's vintage wood plugs by Heddon one is a Crazy Crawler the other a big surface popper. Still use them from time to time. Would love to find an old "Creek Chub" but don't want to spend what they're asking on e-bay for them.

are crazy for the old plugs but if we had them that would be ok, imagine the stuff sitting in the widows cellars?

My dad has some old complete fly rods, worth about 3000 each! thats some major fishing gear if we ever sell them, wich i doubt we will.

Your Bradco fishing reel was made in thr late 40's early 50's.
The reels came in green and blue. Value of the reel is about $25.00.

I still kick myself for being a stupid kid. 40 years ago I got an old split bamboo fly rod from my uncle. 3 piece with 2 different weight tips, all in a case. Like an idiot I used it like a whip and busted it all up. Don't know what kind it was but my uncle didn't do anything cheap. Oh well live and learn.
