I'll leave the ice outing out of this poll because it sounds like that is in the works and its not Cold yet.

Since the first Maanglers outing went so well here are the ideas that have been posted.

2. Carp Fishing Outing Location Ct. River

3. Surf fishing Outing Location Eastern Massachusetts

4. Ct. River Bass/Pike outing Location Ct. River

5. Ct. River Island Fishing Carp/Catfish Outing

If there are any more ideas floating around please post them and I'll add them to the list. All of these ideas are excellent.

I like fishstory's idea in the announcement section about picking a spot where we could spend more time socializing. If we do set up somewhere on an island in the river it will pose a problem if a lot of non boaters show up. Does anyone know any decent areas on the river accessible to vehicles and boats possibly behind the Northampton airport? An afternoon of food and friends and a night of catfishing sounds like a good time to me.

I'm ready for anything. I think that we could just shuttle non-boaters over to the island. If we can get enough boaters to join us. I have no problem helping out members who want to fish, and enjoy a good time. Beerchug Fishing1

carp and cats can be at the mouth of the chicopee, or longmeadow flats " this is where i go and you can drive right to the banks and fish off your tail gate", mouth of the westfield is a good spot, behind balise chevy, any spot will do...

I will shuttle people also. I've heard that there is some good catfishing by the islands in the river in Sunderland. Where do you launch a boat there? I've never fished this stretch of river. I hear there is decent smallie fishing up there too.

I'd love to but I'm tied up this weekend. I do a lot of carpentry on the side and I'm already way behind on a job I'm doing. Taking last saturday off didn't help but I wasn't going to miss the get together. Afternoon/evenings are better for me. I get home from work about 3:00.

Get you votes in guys we have a tie. If it ends up staying this way maybe we could make it a full day/evening outing. Daytime Bass/Pike grill, then evening catfishing. What do you guys think it would be an all day event but I'm sure it would be a blast.

Need a few more details. Where on the river will it be held? That time of year on a Saturday there is going to be a lot of boat traffic no matter where you go, will make fishing during the day pretty tough. That said I will probably be up for it.

I am thinking maybe Sunderland or Oxbow. I have pm'ed Yote a couple of questions concerning the islands he has mentioned. I usually don't fish the upper areas of the river so looking for someone who has some knowledge of the area.

I gonna have to do some research on the Islands around Sunderland the Enviromentals Police may have shut them down to public use for some reason. I will try to find out if we can have a outing on any of them on the river. If not we might just have to brainstorm another location to have the event.

A saltwater trip would be nice. I have a few surf rods and plenty of plugs and equipment for others to use. Just my 2 cents though

Called the EPO's concerning the use of the islands. They didn't really have any info if they have been made off limits for public use. But they informed me to call the Department of recreation/conservation. I will call them tomorrow to find out more details in the afternoon.

I just tried called the Department of Recreation/Conservation and got voicemails of the different employees that work there and spoke to a computer. I then emailed the DRC and hopefully I will have some answers by later on this afternoon or tomorrow morning considering the use of the islands.

Anyways only have a couple of hours left get your votes in before the poll is closed. Thanks1
