New Law signed by Governor Romney

Gov. Romney signed into law this week. It concerns individuals who haven't held a hunting or sporting license before Jan 1, 2007 will have to take the hunter education Course. So fellow hunter don't loose your paperwork because knowing how the state is run from personal experience. It will probably take days before they could find your file.

I favor this new law and it should have been acted upon years and years ago. I took my hunter ed course back in 1991 because I wanted to get into hunting and do it safely. Since that time I have had nothing but pure enjoyment hunting the woods of Western Mass.

I took the Mass hunter safety course back in 1957 so I could hunt alone at 15 so this is simply a return to common sense, actualy I enjoyed it so much I took it twice

Took that back in 1963. If i had my way it would be mandatory in all the schools starting at a young age.Ihad my three girls shooting at the age of 5. My youngest is the only one to get the permit and she owens two 9s and a 22
