Here's an interesting video. After you listen to the whole thing, I think you will agree that open carrying a firearm, although legal in some states (including ours), can get you into some trouble! Yikes It's just a matter of how willing you are to stand up for those rights. This man was.

Just took a quick look at video. Had trouble hearing all of it. Will look at it tomorrow. A very quick analysis leads me to believe that the person went out deliberately trying to instigate a confrontation. At face value I would call that pretty stupid. We already get plenty of "bad press".

I just finished looking at the video again and my opinion hasn't changed. I thought that the police were courteous and respectful [despite the fact that the guy in the striped shirt is a jerk]. I've taken the police to court three times over this type of issue, so I have no problem with standing up for OUR RIGHTS. Just pick the right issues to stand up for. I don't believe that this was a problem. The gentleman could very easily have been on his way in a matter of minutes. I don't know the law but I would have arrested the loud mouth of obstructing the police in the performance of their duties. That being said: never back down if you believe your right! Smile1

Just another idiot going to make them change the laws so this doesn't happen again. Of course police are going to stop a person wearing a firearm in public to verify they are licensed. And the guy in the striped shirt is an instigator. They pulled this prank to show their audience. I can guarantee the legistlation will attempt to put an end to it.

Crestliner I think you agree this was uncalled for. The men were uncooperative and rude. They found some rule that most don't know about and used it for thier radio show...well done u fools. Now the legistlation will try to vote it out.Bash1

use it or lose it.

i walked into cumberland farms in williamstown yesterday and the girl behind the counter said, "cool holster, is it a Hunter? I have a Gould and Goodrich that holds my 9 real well."

Obama gets elected and you won't be carrying openly or concealed! it won't be an issue in a few days, it'll be another right lost. then hunting.

I love Vermont. I believe there are 1 or 2 more states like yours out there. You folks just have to keep an eye on the "do gooders' from this state that want to show you a BETTER WAY OF LIFE!! Thumbsup

It's my opinion that Obama is a symptom of a much larger problem and that the focus should not be limited to keeping him out of office. I don't believe the anti-Obama rehtoric works. I believe it only re-inforces the division between "us" and "them" and alienates gun owners. I believe the majority of American citizens, including liberals, are reasonable people and that a discussion without anger is more productive than an argument about who's right and who's wrong.

By the way, Obama has never been on my list of presidential preferences. It's not because I bought into all the Anti-Obama garbage, it's because in my opinion he lacks the political skills needed to be a successful president. Hillary was my top Democratic choice. On the other hand last year at this time McCain was at the top of my list. He was bumped off the list during the debates by Govenor Romney. His campaing strategy since being nominated, including the selection of Ms. Palin as VP, has convinced me he's not up to the job. I can't see a lesser of two evils in this race so for the first time since I started voting I won't be voting for a president.

I don't know how the Obama comment came up on this tread...... but...OK?
OOPS. Sorry I just went back and looked again. Now I Know why you made the comment. Eyeball Roller
