Looks like the Eagles at Bartons Cove got into a school of good-sized shad or herring (hard to tell)! They come all the way up the fish ladder and right into the talons of our national bird. Awesome.

Image taken from www.nu.com/eagles (http://www.nu.com/eagles) of course.

I was up there fishing about 3 years ago and saw one of the eagles dive down and grab a fish out of the cove. It was amazing to watch like being a part of national geographics. It flew back to the nest and you could see the heads of the 2 chicks pop up looking for dinner.

Nice pic thanks for posting. I think it was mid April or more towards may we saw a Eagle that had a large snake in its talons. This snake looked around four to five feet long. I'm sure the chicks ate well that night.
