Does anybody know anyone who dips arrows locally. I like the Team Realtrees' arrows with the dipped white ends...not only do they look cool but they are easier to determine what type of hit you had by the blood trace. If anyone knows any sport shops that do this let me know!

Thanks...........Beerchug

Almost noone dips arrows anymore. The fumes from the dip are carcinigenic and since arrow wraps have come out pretty much everyone does that instead. I used to have all mine dipped untill I had to send them to arizona to get done. Now I just have them wrapped. I do mine with a white wrap with all white feathers. It really helps you follow the arrow in flight and the white shows up really well against the forest floor.

R&R has the wraps......

the arrow at the bottom right of this group is one of my hunting arrows with the wrap.

Get the arrow-making video from 3 Rivers Archery, they have everything you need to dip, crest and fletch your own. (I'm lazy, I buy mine but maybe this winter...)

Arlow...

Will R&R wrap them if I buy them from there? I want to start getting into building my own arrows but this year I am just looking to restock but want them wrapped! I was afraid the wrap would peel off...but I am assuming that you like it and it stays on. I shoot at a Bowmens club so I will be shooting them often!

OH and buy the way...don't want to be rude but it looks like you could use some practice! LOL "Aim small, miss small"

Thats a nice grouping! How many yards away were you shooting? I've got to get back into shooting one of these days but I'll have to upgrade all my equipment first.

Tacoma,

R&R will make them to order wrapped and all. That is where I have mine made. They are the only ones close I can find that stock the easton X-7 eclipses which I like. The wraps are plenty durable. I do keep a half dozen hunting arrows seperate and practice with others. The hunting arrows are test shot to make sure they fly properly then put in the quiver and dont fly again unless there is blood in their path.

Nores,

That is a 30 yard group from last fall when I was shooting every day. Archery is like chemisty. Every piece of the equation adds up to the total picture. Use quality gear, tune it properly and practice well and everything else becomes automatic. My buck I shot last year I don't even remember triggering the bow to go off. All of a sudden the arrow was just going through his chest. Grinning1

Here are some pictures from two years ago...my buddy and I were practicing at our local bowmens club and I pierced his arrow straight down the middle...total luck shot but still one in a million!!!

A friend of mine has done that trick twice over the years. (he has both sets of arrows hanging in his cellar) It's not all luck you have to be a good enough shot to consistently put your arrow in the same place and eventually it will happen. You're right about it being like a science, everything done the same way every time. I was never at that level of shooting. If I could put 6 arrows in a 6" group at 30 yards I was more than happy.

If you did that at our club, (Swift River Sportsman's) you'd be inducted into the Order of Robin Hood and be given a special hat. I managed it once years ago, had a _bunch_ of arrows in the target...

Good shooting!
