One guy didn't when launching at the Q on Tuesday. His Jeep ended up in the lake! When I was pulling out, they had oil barriers spread out over the main launch; you could only use the secondary launch. They make it a rule to chock all tow vehicles launching or pulling off for good reason. A very expensive mistake! Yikes

Rich

I was told that the Jeep ran over his leg and smashed it in several places.in the process. Not a very good day would you say.

I feel bad for the guy and his injuries and the damage to his vechicles.

However if this type of incident, stupid is as stupid does, happens more often at the Q, it won't be long before they will shut her down to launching boats.

That would really make me feel bad.

Happens all the time, seen one or two submerged at a few other launches. People just need to take their time, be patient, and think about what they are doing.

Fisher you are right on the nose. Most accidents seem to happen because someone wasn't carefull and didn't think ahead.

I got away with one stupid move a few years ago. I backed the truck down to load my boat at the end of the day, left the truck running, jumped in the boat to drive it up on the trailer and noticed my back-up lights still on. I had left the truck running in reverse, thank god for a good emergency brake!!

Why wouldn't you chock your wheels...seems like a simple thing to do to insure that your vehicle dosn't end up in the drink!

All good advice guys. One little tip. A good commercial chock usually has an eyebolt in it. Tie a short rope to your bumper. After you launch or load, just drive up the ramp dragging the chock. Mine is tied to the tie down just inside my tailgate. I set it on the tonneau cover before backing down, hop out chock the back tire and forget about it. At least so far, I haven't forgotten and driven home with it that way! Of course, there's a first time for everything!Laughing1
