Does anyone know what kind of species of fish swim within hampton ponds. A friend of mine swims there sometimes and is curious what he is swimming with. Told him I could check with some people on this site figuring someone would know?
Thanks for any answers!

I'd be more worried about the other human species swimming there than the fish. I've heard reports of peoples cars being vandalized there because someone didn't like something you said or did.

Lots of Pickerel in there! I've also caught some big bass, but haven't fished it since my vehicle was broken into, that was years ago though and I've heard they have cleaned it up!
Is the boat ramp still a hang out for 50 people with one Jetski?????
They are trying to clean it up and get rid of the riff-raff. Last year was a disaster with the quality of folks that were hanging out there in the vicinity of the ramp and the access road. English was not the "official" language in that area. Litter was terrible, boom-box noise drowned out everything, everyday and a lot of close calls with the jet-skis.
This year I understand access to the ramp will be through the main entrance and is free until ten in the morning. After ten you have to pay to get in. They are figuring that the fishermen will arrive early and after ten the nominal fee to enter will keep the low life's to a minimum. We shall see?

watch out for the floaties in the water, heard that the homes around the lake have septic problems! I haven't gone there in years due to it being a giant toilet.

They used to chlorinate that pond back in the 60's. Sounds like It's not much better.

This clear water pond is stocked regularly with "put n' take" rainbow trout. Has a decent bass, bluegill and crappie population and loads of pickeral. Don't know about the septic problems there, but since the state has taken over the boat ramp and surrounding beaches, you can expect the water to be tested regularly. They closed beaches once in the past, due to the goose dropping problem, but seems to have been resolved now. As far as break-ins go, I haven't seen or heard of any recently. Just about any public launch you go to these days is a "target". It's a shame, but you have to just be aware these days, no mater where you go and know that you are at risk.
