Anyone from that area??? I'm looking at some property out there and wondering how the fishing is. I would have dock rights to Brookhaven Lake and just down the road from Wickaboug. Any info on these places and others would help me in my decision!
Thanks

as Quabog Pond(bass, pickerel, pike)which is also the headwater of the Quabog river(bass, pickerel, pike, trout), South Pond(bass, trout, pike),and Lake Lashaway(bass, pickerel). All-in-all, not a bad neck of the woods to be in.

You're also not far from Quabbin Reservoir and the Swift River, Big and Little Alum, Brimfield Reservoir.

It looks like the fishing can be awesome with lakes, ponds rivers, and streams with those names posted above. Good luck in deciding on a place to purchase seems that there is quite the variety of land to choose from.

There are a bunch of ponds with-in 15-20 miles of there. A lot of them are limited access (no launch small boats or canoes) Brooks Pond off Rt 148 in North Brookfield bass, pickerel, calico no gas motors allowed electric ok. Browning Pond in Oakham usual variety of fish stocked with trout dirt launch suitable for smaller boats. Thompson Pond in Spencer no public launch that I know of can put a small boat or canoe in off the road that splits the pond. Long pond in Rutland good launch plenty of parking stocked with trout good bass fishing. Whitehall Pond in Rutland State Forest no launch, no gas motors for a small pond has some great bass fishing. Have caught quite a few bass upwards of 3 lbs to better than 6 lbs. hope this helps.

Great area for fishin! In fact I will be on Quaboag on Saturday for a club tournament. If your around stop by the launch at 3 pm to get an idea of the local potential. Last year we had some big bags weighed out of there. 17+ lbs won with 3 other bags over 14 lbs. Not sure how it will be with this weather lately but I bet some good fish will still be caught!
Wickaboag is one of my other favorite lakes too.

Sounds like great places to fish, and I might even be able to launch a boat without the boat ramp being used for a swimming hole Wink1 . I really love the area and look forward to getting away from the MachineGun . Thanks for the help, you've all helped in my decision making. Here's a pick of the property, although you can't see it in the pic, there is a Quabbin fire tower in the back ground to the left, the nearest neighbor is a 1/4 mile away, and thats my big hang up on moving, if it was just me and the wife it would be easy, but it would be pretty isolated for my 2 year old daughter...

12 acres surrounded by 3,000 acres of federal land banked dairy farm and then some state park backs up to that , something Rock is the name!! I think I have more deer in my yard now, to much land out there. At my house here all the houses funnel the deer into my back yard, of course the feeder and licks help out! lol

Nice you can put your deer stand on your deck. Is that anywhere near the stone house reservation on Rt 9? My wife and I have thought about moving out to that area in a few more years. Got 1 more kid to get out of the house before that happens. Then were going to down size for the retirement years. Won't need the 9 room monster I have now.

I just looked at the map to see where Brookhaven Pond was. I know right where it is. I've always wanted to fish that place it looks like a good bass pond. I go past it every time I go out to my brother-in-laws place in Rutland Ma.

Thats the name I was looking for, "sort of" its called rock house. The property is located at the top of the mountain behind the Rock House. I think I'm going to take a day to go fishing out in that area, If I do good fishing, I'm moving! If I don't catch anything I don't move, maybe thats how I should make my decision???
