Sinking of the Oriskany 17-May-2006

The Oriskany, a decommissioned aircraft carrier, was sunk 24 miles off the coast of Pensacola, Fla., on May 17 to form an artificial reef. The sinking of the 888-foot ship took 37 minutes

The little boat on the deck of the aircraft carrier was used to hold the generator that set off the explosives. They wanted it to float freely after it sunk the ship. Don't know about the car. Maybe it was somebodies old junker and they had enough of it so they decided to send it deep with the ship.
