Please don't be too hard on me. I put my boat away last October, with "ring around the collar". Yep...the dreaded slime ring which dries to a hard, crusty (cresty?) scum around the hull of your boat, where the water crud accumulates. So what do I do? Went to Action Marine and discussed the problem with Kevin there. (Great guy btw). Gave me a bottle of "Slimy Grimy" to try.

WOW!!! This stuff flat works! I bought a brush to scrub the bottom with, but didn't need it. A common house spounge did the trick. The "ring around the collar" is totally gone and with so little effort! Wish I'd have known about that stuff sooner.

Anyway, if you do buy a bottle of this stuff, just have the sales person try out the trigger sprayer on their trash barrel first! Mine failed after a dozen squirts. I just unscrewed the top and soaked that spounge with it. A few wipes and presto! Didn't have to use the brush. As good as new. Thumbsup

Do you think that stuff would work on the oily greasy coating in the bilge? Thanks

There is also a bilge cleaner specially formulated to rid that crud.
