What's going on with this? Yesterday & today I tried to upload some pictures, to post here on MaAnglers, but when I click on the upload button, it just sits there!? I re-tried with just one picture, letting it sit there for 1/2 hour before cancelling out. Anyone having a problem?

Just re-booted my computer and tried to upload just a single picture once again. Nada? Don't have a clue as to what the problem could be. It says it's uploading, but nothing happens. Doesn't this site have it's own photo upload site?

Guys,
We once had a photo upload on this site but there was little use so I took it down. Also it saves on site bandwidth and storage by hosting elsewhere, ie. photobucket or any other free photo hosting site.

I re-tried with just one picture, letting it sit there for 1/2 hour before cancelling out. Anyone having a problem? There could be a few factors why this happens. Smashhead The network in your area could be having issues uploading to the site due to possible maintenance of the network or photobucket Swear1, even tho you can go site to site. Also I'm not sure on your computers security but potential viruses can slow the process or stop it completely. Wink1 I would check how many processors are currently running (Cnrtl, Alt, Del, at the same time and go into task manager) you will see a display of how much each process uses cpu memory, but very carefull if your not sure what processes to kill. Some of them eat up too much resources and dont shutdown after using different applications. Some of them are required.NotsureThe last thing is doublecheck your uploads to photobucket. Make sure you specify the right paths of where the file exsist on your PC when uploading photo's. Thumbsup

Make sure to resize your photos to 640 x 480 or less.

Photos are the same size as all the other 8 pages of them currently on Photo Bucket. The same size I've been posting with right along. These photos I'm trying to upload were just taken with my camera a couple of days ago. I attached a photo, from Photo Bucket, to another forum. This went just fine, the same way as I've posted here so many times in the past. The problem seems to be, when I log onto Photo bucket, the hour glass and page loading icon is continuous. This means that my page is not fully loading. In turn, I cannot start the upload process from my computer. This is really strange? I ran virus scans and spyware scans. Everything is fine. And I'm not experiencing any other difficulties on any other site. Got tons of memory on this high end computer and nothing different is running, in the background, that hasn't been running in the past (I keep tabs on this every week - first sign of a spyware infection). I figure tomorrow I'll close down everything in the background and try Photo Bucket again; but I believe it's a web problem, not a problem related to my computer - but then again only the net gods know for sure! LOL Thanks a million to you all for your suggestions and help. I do hope this is only a temporary thing? I may have to find a new photo program!

After 1/2 doz. emails back & forth with a tech rep @ Photo Bucket, I now find out that that site no longers supports Mozilla as a web browser. Hense my delimma in attempting to upload. I had to download the latest version of I.E. (which I refuse to use as my default browser), upload the pictures from my computer to Photo Bucket using this browser, closing it and re-opening my Mozilla which I used to post pictures on MaAnglers! Sorry folks, but you won't be getting pictures from me very often.

I'm reading this - and replying on BigBear's account.
I use Firefox at work - just updated to the latest version, and I can load photos just fine with Firefox. I'm pretty sure that firefox is the upgrade of the current Mozilla that's out there. I could be wrong about this, but it's something you might want to check into. I won't be caught dead with Internet Explorer on my computers - We run Mozilla at home as well. Just tried to upload a photo and nothing happened. Til we figure this out, there won't be many photos from the "bears" either. - HoneyBear

What ya'll got against IE? Inquiring Toads want to know. Have never had a problem with IE. Wondering what the fuss is all about.

Thanks.

It seems Photbucket has done some updates and have added new features to the site. At work we use Mozilla Firefox version 2.0.0.12 and I just uploaded a pic with no issues what so ever.

Mozilla is the full internet suite - browser, mail server, etc.. Firefox is the Mozilla stand-alone browser. Makes no sense to me why Photo Bucket - all of a sudden - would support one and not the other?
Toad - I.E. is the most insecure browser there is. It's hacked multiple times more than any other available browser. Obviously, because it's a pure Microsoft product. Even Netscape is more secure than I.E.; however, Mozilla is the most secure. In any case, the Photo Bucket techs have no clue as to what Mozilla is (the oldest browser out there!). I tried to explain to them what Firefox is, but they're clue-less like I say.

So its a browser issue, I notice this on my old version of Mozilla as well. When I upgraded to firefox I could upload again. Plain old Mozilla has too many security issues. I.E. stinks BTW!!!!

Part of the problem with I.E. is it will download items without telling you. Guess I go to Firefox. I hate learning new programs(or up dates)plus new e-mail.Bash1

Problem solved just downloaded Firefox works fine. Left Mozilla on the desktop also. SO..... you have your choice of browsers. You can do photos on Firefox and still have your mail on Mozilla. Thumbsup Give that a try Cresty!

Just downloaded Firefox. This will allow me upload to photobucket; but then I still have to close it down, reopen photobucket in Mozilla, then copy/paste to MaAnglers. You cannot copy/paste from one browser to another. Why couldn't they just leave it as it was?????

Cresty, why do you have to close Firefox? Notsure I have firefox on my home pc and I have never had to close it and open another browser to download pics to a forum. I do however, have multiple tabs open so I can copy and paste from Photobucket to forums. Also, my work pc has IE and I have never had an issue with loading pics or what so ever, although it is on a dedicated network server.

Cresty all I left Mozilla on my desktop for was just e-mail. No need to go back and forth.

Guess you're right. I just hate change! (Old school) I'll have to set up Firefox this week. Thanks for your help. I still don't understand why Photobucket won't recognize Mozilla anymore. Especially since Firefox is just a stand-alone Mozilla browser!? When I questioned the tech reps, they could not answer me.
