I was looking for a decent place to find some stripers without driving all the way to the cape this weekend. I was thinking somewhere near the Misquamiquit(sp?) area since it isnt too far from me. If anyone has any tips on some places to try, it would be great. Thanks everyone!

I heard its been pretty spotty but there are schools of schoolie sized stripers along the beaches. Rocky areas are the key to your success. But the rocky shoreline can be tricky and slippery. Don't want to fall in the drink, and water temps are only in the fifties still. We had pretty decent success along the Ct. Coastline while trolling a couple of areas this past weekend. So I am sure there are fish to be found along RI. We trolled from Niantic to New London. To give you an example of the area we fished. I a saw a large group of flyfisherman along the beach just before the Thames River. Forgot the name of the beach but the reef comes in really close there and when the tide is ripping the bass are feeding.
