I just wanted to say hi to all my fellow mass anglers. I am new to this site and would like. I have been fishing for 30 years I flyfish, fresh and salt I also use spinng gear for trout, bass, panfish, strippers, blues, cod. I have a 20ft runabout that I use mostly in the boston harbor and outer islands.
I have never fished in a tourneyment but I would like to someday.
I live in Newton about 10 miles outside of Boston.
Say Hi back let me know what's up.

Welcome Jack. I frequent the Quincy area quite a big when the fishing starts, and have been known to flick a fly from the beaches when the winds cooperating. Softer water and warmer temps are on the way.

Thanks for all the wecomes guys.........I can't wait to the ice brakes I have heard of this site before and I think I am going to like it. Boston Harbor can be great in the early spring when the mac's and herring are running strippers an bluefish are plentyful.
Cod out by the "B" bouy in cold deep waters.
Local favorites fresh water holes White's Pond Concord Walden Pond Lacke Cothiate, Charles river yes!!!!! the Charles killer largemouth, northen Pike, trout in weslly Needham ends just about everything in there that swims. Last May when herring where running the strippers come all the way down the river from the harbor caught 2 28 and 27 inchers on 6 pound test on fresh water gear what a rush. talk to you all soon.

BoBo
I fly fish mainly whites' pond waldon pond in concord for trout and the charles river in the needhah falls area and also from watertown square I can walk right in near the herring ladder or the falls. I catch small and largemouth bass along with perch, sunfish, pickerl or two. Lots of people the Waltham end of the charles has some real nice northern pike in it. this snow has put a tangle in my line.

Jack, I've heard Whites Pond holds salmon as well. Do you fish from the shore, or float it?

BoBo White's dose have salmon in it.... not a lot they are tuff to catch It gets regular stocking of rainbows and browns. The only problem with it is that as soon as the word gets out the shore line is filled with people for weeks catching the spooked farm trout hugging the shore. There is a couple of deep holes there that hold the big ones. I have a friend that has a 10 jon boat we troll it or power bait the holes. But the biggest secret about white's is it's bass lg and sm mouth most people fish for trout there and ignore the bass .....big mistake... I regulay catch 2 to 2 1/2 pounders with my biggest fish 4lb lgm. If the water is not to high you almost wade around the whole pond. It is nice and clean no trash fish. Lets give it a try sometime.
I have tried to post a couple on this site.
