Anybody have a home remedy for muscle spasms. I've been off line for almost a week because of spasms [a lot] in my back. Years ago I tried muscle relaxers. They didn't work for me. It's amazing how many minutes and seconds there are in a pain filled 24hr. period!! I tried acupressure when it first started, but its tough to do on yourself. Now to top everything else off, I have a stiff kneck!! Cry1 Swear1 Cry1 Mad1 Cry1

i'll stand, place my hands on the wall in front of me while leaning forward a little bit and raise each knee as high as i can several times and then the other knee the same amount or i'll stand on a set of stairs and hang each leg off the side to let it stretch down. the knee bends in bed on your back before you get out of bed also in the morning.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've tried the stretching, leaning against the wall, and isometrics. They've all helped in the past with minor pain but not with the spasms. They're triggered by just about ANY movement. I'm going to try Ibuprofen, as was suggested by another member. I've always try to avoid drug [even in the 60's Cry1]. As far as that NEEDLE suggestion goes-Yikes Yikes Yikes Yikes Yikes Yikes!

I also have problems with spasms in my neck (I had 3 discs removed from my neck about 2 years ago)- I've found there is nothing wrong with taking 4 advil - it can work sometimes.

I started taking the Ibuprofen last night and I FINALLY got a nights sleep. I've heard of having 1 disc removed, but never 3. Wow! How has that effected your movement?

My neurosurgeon didn't want to originally remove 3 discs - a 3 disc fusion, but in order to fix things properly he had to. I now have a metal plate in the front of my neck with screws into the vertebrae, as well as two metal rods in the back of my neck - with a total of 16 screws all holding it together. It's been 2 years this past November since surgery. I still have motion in my neck, but not the range I used to have. This was all done at C2, C3, and C4. If they have to take out any more, I'm in big trouble.

I'm glad you still have some motion. Must be a real pain in the ass getting stopped every time you go through a metal detector.
