Anyone on this site familiar with this pond or lake in either Ludlow or Wilbraham? It is located right down the street from Ludlow High School. Drove by their the other day (my aunt lives in the vicinity of Minnechaug High School) and saw a lot of swirls in the lake. Im not sure if that is the right name of the pond but I believe it is off of Red Bridge Road or something along those lines. Has anyone ever fished there and what have you caught. Looking to try it sometime when I visit my cousin. Fishing1

Red Bridge is the Chicopee River. There is a dam right at the launch site on East Street(coming in from Ludlow).I've never had a really good day there, but have had a few fair to middlin' ones.

There are several species in the area. Large and smallmouth bass, pickerel and pike, yellow and white perch, and I belive I caught a crappie or two, if memory serves me. As for any hot spots, I don't know. It's always been hit or miss for me.

Although I haven't tried it, I've been told that there is some good smallmouth fishing just downstream of the outlet flow.

Use to fish this tiny reservoir a couple of years back. Great crappie fishing in later spring there. Never did well on bass and/or the reported pike supposedly residing there. Good launch ramp though.

The launch is actually in Wilbraham. I have fished it a couple of times, caught mostly pickerel. I have heard people say they have had good luck catching smallies straight out from the launch in front of the dam in about 25' of water with deep diving crank baits and rattle traps. If you have a small boat or canoe go straight across the lake from the boat ramp there is a small bridge. If your boat is low enough you can get under it into the backwater. The stream that feeds this area comes out of Ludlow Res. you will catch more Largemouth back here than in the main reservoir. I have caught a number of bass up to 4lbs there. I ice fish this area and have caught white perch up to 15" pushing 1 1/2 lbs. My future son-in-law and i jigged up about 80 calico and perch in about 2 hrs one day.
