TEAM FISH'N from this site has sent me this via email and I thought it would be very useful to post and share with everyone.
FRESHWATER TROLLING SEMINAR SET FOR MANCHESTER
With the weather warming and summer vacations on the horizon, it’s an ideal time to learn about a popular fishing pursuit — trolling Connecticut’s lakes and ponds for trout.
The CT DEP-Inland Fisheries Division is offering anglers an opportunity to delve into the topic with a "Freshwater Trolling Seminar" on Saturday, June 24, 2006, in Manchester. The Journal Inquirer of Manchester is a co-sponsor of the event.
The seminar, the first of its kind in the area, will run from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Eighth District Firehouse, 32 Main St., Manchester (corner of Main and Hilliard streets). See directions below.
Flatlining, harling, leadcore lines, downrigging and side-planing (planer boards) and associated techniques for trout and salmon fishing will be covered at the hands-on lecture and demonstration program. David Mordavsky, a chief instructor for the Connecticut Aquatic Resources Education program, will present the program, with assistance from his fishing partner Audrey Mordavsky (together known as "TEAM FISH’N") and other CARE instructors.
A textbook, "Freshwater Trolling: Trout and Native Fish," by Bill Presslor, will serve as the curriculum, and state-of-the-art equipment from a variety of manufacturers will be available for hands-on demonstrations.
Registration fee is $25. A continental breakfast and the book will be provided to everyone who registers before June 2. Attendees should bring pens and pads for note-taking, and and a lunch vendor will be present.
Register by sending your name, address and check, along with a phone number and e-mail address, to the Journal Inquirer Sports Department, Box 510, Manchester, CT, 06045-0510. Make checks payable to "Freshwater Trolling Seminar."
For further information, call Brian Coyne, JI Executive Sports Editor, 860-646-0500 (ext. 314); or 800-237-3606 (ext. 314), or by e-mail at sports@journalinquirer.com; or George Babey, CARE coordinator, CT-DEP Fisheries Unit, 860-424-3481.
Directions to seminar: Head east on I-84 to Exit 63 and take Route 83 (Main Street) south to the firehouse. Parking is available at the Eighth District headquarters adjacent to the firehouse at 18 Main St.
Thanks again Team Fish'n for informing us about this. Smoke1
