This week I am going to purchase a 5-6 wt flyrod and reel.I have been researching on the net and pretty much everyone says that a lesson from an experienced fly fisherman can teach me more technic than I can figure out solo in a whole season.
Is there someone in the Agawam/Springfield area willing to meet me at a local park and show me the basics?

I just started fly fishing myself....I had lessons from Marla Blair, she's good and demands that you do everything right ! I'll get her number and post it for you

Spend a day with Marla, it'll cost ya a bit but it will save you about a year!

Come to the Western Mass. Fly Fishermen's meeting Monday night at the Elks club on Chapin Street in Ludlow. You'll meet some good people, see some good fly tying, I might even be there ;-)

I met Marla years ago before she became such a popular guide/instr.180 bucks at this time is just too steep for me...I will continue on with my solo learning..Maybe next year I can meetr up with her and get a lesson.
