View Full Version : Rudeness in stores
Maybe its just another sign of the times changing but it seems like wherever you go nowadays people just give a rats @ss about others. They are rude and obnoxious and dont care what others think. Just the other day I was waiting in line for about 20 minutes and some person cuts me right off. I was like wtf. But decided not to start anything and make a seen in the middle of the store. Its really unfortunate but it seems like this is a growing problem.

But on the other hand ........I was in Dave's Pioneer Sports in Northampton today and I'm new to fly fishing so I had a hundred questions......The store was mobbed and only the owner was there ....He took all the time I needed to answer my questions, put fly line on my reel, and to make sure I was comfortable with going out fishing on Thursday .....There are RUDE ONES OUT THERE......but there are 20 nice people like dave for every one of those !!so it might be a few dollars cheaper to go to a chain store for equipment, but I'll go to Daves Pioneer Sports for friendliness, confidence
and service EVERY TIME !!!!

Glad to see that you had such great service. I've been in there a couple of times and I agree stand up tackle shop.
But here's another story that happened just a few weeks ago at Wal-Mart. My wife and I decided to go out to get some house supplies on a weekend. That was the first mistake. Anyway after we check out at the counter and walk thru the doors the security alarm goes off and this little old lady comes walking over and scans our bag to de-mobilize that security tag. As we were standing their this little cute girl around two years old is walking out the door in front of her family we presumed. The little girl stops and she gets run over by the carraige. The girl falls to the floor and begins crying, and in the meantime her soda is spilling on the floor. The people pushing the cart don't come around and just stare at the little girl. All of a sudden a lady comes running at full speed and picks up the little girl, and begins cursing out the people pushing the carraige. I couldn't believe my eye's and ear's, and my wife looks at me and say lets go. The continued out in the parking lot yelling and screaming at each other in vulgar language. There were people there with their kids, grandparents ect walking in and out. It was really a sight to see, and from now on my wife and I don't shop at Walmart on the Weekends.

Dave Warren (Dave's Pioneer) is a good guy to deal with, I get up there on my way to the Deerfield. I'd rather go to a sporting goods store than Walmart any day, you might pay a buck more but you get to deal with people who love the same things you do. And they know their stuff better.

Jay Its funny that you made the post about rude people. I went to BigY this morning with my 2 1/2 year old daughter, she was holding my hand and 1 car refuses to stop as I'm walking across the cross walk to get to the store, and its pouring out! It was a 50 year old women in her $80,000 mercedeze " <---don't make enough to even know how to spell it". We then get into the store and some lady almost takes out my daughter with a carriage, because she wanted to get to the isle before us" I said, and a happy mothers day to you to. Not more than a minute later we come down the isle near the registers and a lady almost knocks me over to get in line, I wasn't even trying to get in line" we finally get to the flowers area and you can get roses for $4 bucks with a silver coin," normally $20, I say to my daughter, I always forget the pile of coins I have at home! A lady heard me and pulled out a silver coin and handed it to my daughter, she had plenty she said......Its nice to know, nice people do exist!
