Anyone hear of any news on the Cape lately? Thinking about ehading out there this weekend to visit my uncles place in Chatham. Want to hit the canal and the southern beaches. Not sure if the stripers have arrived yet but willing to give it a try.

I fished there this past weekend. Only got out one night and an afternoon. I had a small schoolie take a look at my jig in the afternoon but I wasn't expecting too much for a trip in the middle of the day. I had one hit that night chunking mackerel. Skunked but the stripers are all around according to the bait shop.

I have heard this from a third person but the Macks are lined up in the Bay just outside the Canal, and the big girls are feeding on them. Check this site out they don't give locations but they give tactics ect.

Try the canal at the west end (Maritime Academy) usually plenty of parking, rod will only be 25 ft from your vehicle....fish as far left as you can go right up against the property fence, BUT, don't go around it or you'll go to jail!!!! Someone will always try to get on your left side, but don't let them....Use 3oz pear weight with a FISH FINDER rig and chunk mackeral....I strip off 3ft line every 10 minutes until that chunk is about 30 ft from the weight!!!!! Hang On.......Tight lines, Wally
P.S. Last 3 to 4 hrs of east running tide BEST (Incoming) This spot always my favorite when slack tide at first light, especially topwaters!!!
