Anyone interested in the recreational riding of ATV's? I used to ride them with my buddies back in the day but nowadays it seems just about everywhere you go you will get busted with them. Its always those few people that do stupid crap with their dirtbikes and atv's that ruins it for the rest of us.

Laws and regulations for riding atv's dirtbikes etc. are getting very strict. Most places you will get fined for riding so it seems not even worth it to own one. A few state forests allow the recreational use of atvs there but not during the winter months. Even these places are "fazing out" the use of atvs because people dont obey rules and ride off trails damaging the forests and land.

I used to ride a lot with my neighbors but they started to get out of it and our land was being lost. I still have my bike but haven't ridden in a while.

I used to have a yz80. I bought it when I was about 5'4" my feet couldnt touch the ground sitting down. Then a few months later I was 5'10" and my feet were resting easily on the ground. Sold it and havent ridden a dirtbike since.

I really would like to however most atv riding and dirtbiking in my area have been closed off. It used to be that anyone could ride and not get harrassed (as long as they wern't vandalizing ripping up peoples yards that sort of thing). If I were to buy another atv i would have to trailor it up into state forests or up into Otis which is about 45 minutes from me. I used to like the good ole days when I could hop on my bike ride down the street and be on trails that would go into CT within 2 mintues of my house. Well sadly those days are gone because if you get caught riding you will get a fine.

i got plenty of trails behind my house wich is really nice. 900 acres of conservation land to hunt and fish on! also got a little pit down the street. the 2 BIG pits got developments in them. Also there is a private practice track in RI that i practice on.
