On a relatively recent trip to Nantucket last year for a days fishing I was astounded at the thought that Nantucket has great deer hunting. I was talking to an owner of a tackle shop and he was telling me about this. I would have never thought that they would have such good deer hunting there on a totally developed island. I guess there is also the highest lyme disease cases per person there then anywhere else in the United States. Pretty interesting stuff.

I don't remember which Island it is but either nantucket or marthas V. has a deer hunt in January! It started two years ago and has been very successful. The locals do better than anyone. This is due to the very dense brush that covers the islands. You must put on several drives just to get the deer to even move!
