Celtics Shopping Mark Blount

Celtics PF/C Mark Blount's name has appeared in multiple trade discussions these past few days. One had him going to Memphis in exchange for Pf/C Lorenzen Wright and most recently President of Basketball Opertations Danny Ainge has been contacting the Timberwolves Organization in regards to the possibility of swapping the overpaid Blount for the large expiring contract that belongs to Michael Olowakandi.

Olowakandi is a pretty good player..and im sure they will make this deal. Not that hes a better player than Blount, but the simple fact to free up space at the end of the season for the celtics to possibly go after some big names in free agency. Its clear this year that they need another good complimentary player to accompany Pierce and Davis.With the point guard future locked up with Delonte West, I am looking that they will seek acquiring a good complimentary big man...hence why they are looking to get rid of Blount
