Here are some upcoming ice fishing events gathered from MASSLIVE.COM
-----South Hadley Sporting Club will be holding its annual Ice Fishing Derby on Jan. 29 from sunrise until 2 p.m. with derby headquarters at the Easthampton Rod and Gun Club at the Oxbow in Easthampton, according to public relations chairman George Allen.
There will be a $50 first prize for the largest northern pike, catfish, yellow or white perch, calico bass, pickerel, large and smallmouth bass. There is also a $50 door prize.
Tickets are $5 for fishing and $1 for non-fishing. Tickets can be purchased at Granby Bait, Granby; Pioneer Sports, Northampton; Fish On, Holyoke; Valley Sports, Easthampton; Easthampton Rod and Gun Club, Easthampton.
------11th Annual Tri-Lakes Association Derby on Lake Metacomet, Belchertown will run from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. with $2,000 awarded for a tagged trout top catch.
There will be an additional five tagged trout worth $100 each and 21 cash prizes worth $820.
There will be cash prizes for the top three in the salmon, bass, pickerel, trout, yellow perch, white perch, calico and bullhead categories. There will be $100 first prizes for the biggest salmon, bass, pickerel and trout; $30 for first in the yellow and white perch, calico bass and bullhead classes and $20 for pumpkinseed and first fish registered.
The cut off 400 participants. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 per child 6-13. The registration can be paid by check made out to the Tri-Lake Watershed and mailed to Pat Wojtowicz, 9 Woodhaven Drive, Belchertown, MA 01007.
