Most of those who died in defense of our country were
boys when they died, and they gave up two lives -- the
one they were living, and the one they would have lived.

They gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers
and grandfathers. They gave up everything for their
country... for us.

All we can do is remember.

-- Ronald Reagan

Remember if you fly the flag....put it at half staff till 12 noon on Memorial Day and then run her all the way up at noon.

And those who have returned from the horror changed, different, impacted beyond understanding, often beyond repair. They too we remember. To them who are alive and remain - may God be your pointman.

I was looking for a nice poem or statement by a president and I like that one Gary. I'm gonna copy it and put it in the announcement section. I fly the flag 365 days a year. Everyday is memorial day at my house.

As this is a Memorial day thread, i have to say thanks Dad (Russell) for your 40 years of service, your 4 tours of duty, and even after you were done, you were willing to go back as a contractor to help with the move. Wish i could have done 1/2 as much as you.

God Bless all of those who have passed while serving. And may God continue to help those who served this great country.
