wondering where to start in south hadley or chicopee area...i know chicopee by the center of the bridge and park under the over pass and walk to the point where the rivers meet which you would walk under 391 to the ct river. how about when you come down granby rd by frasco oil co...park there and walk down to chicopee river....is it decent there????? please answer!Cry1
Ive tried below the Holyoke Dam and Fish Ladder and at the mouth of the Westfield River by Bondis and underneath the Bridge by the Big E. The Holyoke Dam has some good spots right there. I usually watch the fish elevator then go fishing down from it. You need to be a little careful there because there are certain spots designated for fishing. Just go underneath the bridge and you will be set. You can see all the shad and stripers running up the river. The mouth of the Westfield River Ive seen some big stripers caught there. Ive gotten an occasional schoolie fishing from shore but if you have a boat you will hammer them. Fishing under the bridge by Dunkin Donuts will land you some shad there are plenty in the water there. Im sure some of the other members can help you on this one too. Good Luck

Granby road is good for shad and the occasional schoolie but the big girls dont swim up the rappids under the brigde. Stick to the big river or lower chicopee river for bigger stripers.
