Set up behind my uncles house, had 4 toms up in the tree gobbling all morning, but once they hit the ground, they didnt gobble once,ore see theme. We decided to try a different spot, setting up we hear a gobble 70 yards into the woods, we see the bird struttn on a ridge walking in, HUGE bird! We called for a couple of hours with the bird hanging up, never got another look at him. After a while the crows were so loud and noisy at a hawk that i think the tom took off, because he didnt gobble once more. Good to get out, and hopefully we can get lucky next weekend. Buckmanjr Next time that happens try and circle out and a round and try calling him from a differnt spot. Try and call less the next time you have them in the trees. I usally just give a low tree call right at the first gobble and one more just before I think they are going to fly down. Once they hit the ground a really call hard for a min or so. Sometimes this will get them fired up and the will come right into your lap. ThomT

We hardly called while in the roost, just a couple soft soft yelps.
We tried calling the second tom at the second spot from several locations. Who knows? always next weekend.
