I was wondering (dangerous!); is there is a resource we can use to find out what is going on in our state with regards to learning seminars (promotional or otherwise) on any/all aspects of our hunting & fishing activities. For instance, this seminar I'm going down to in CT on pike fishing (Saturday) is fine, but doesn't MA offer anything like this? How do you find out about learning opportunities here in our own state? Or do they just not exist here? We have a striper derby coming up soon. I've rarely spent enough time to target that species to feel even a little comfortable, but I'll give it a whirl anyway, of course. I would much prefer learning a little bit ahead of time, so that I can have enough confidence that I'm at least in the ball park with what I'm doing in my boat - or from the shore. I would like to attend a class, which would help me focus my efforts toward having a good time at this event - at least to the point where I wouldn't be dragging a spawn bag full of mayflies about, in hopes of running into a suicidal fish or two Wink1 . For that matter, enough of you folks probably already know quite enough about striper fishing in our river to hold a small class somewhere, for the benefit of those wanting to learn more about a target species and/or techniques - especially just before an event such as this. Just to make it a bit more enjoyable for us neophites; not to give away your special "secrets"! And this could apply to turkey hunting, pike fishing or preparing a pig roast in your back yard! This may be too far reaching for this forum; I don't know.
