Our South Hadley Club Treasurer long time sportsmen and good friend,Dave Thompson passed away this morning.I don't have anymore details,but I will post wake and funeral arangements as soon as I know.

David E. Thompson 1937-2007 SOUTH HADLEY - David E. Thompson, 69, of Wellington Ave., died Sunday February 11, 2007, suddenly while Ice Fishing at the Oxbow. He was born in Holyoke. He was the son of the late Ernest and Christine (Sarnecki) Thompson. David was educated in Mater Dolorosa Schools and Holyoke Trade. He worked for Major Wire and Stevens Paper Mill. David was the Union president at Major Wire, he was a founding member and president of the South Hadley Sportsmens Club, member of the Tiger AC in Chicopee, Ducks Unlimited, the Eagles, and Easthampton Rod and Gun Club. David is survived by his children, David R. Thompson of South Hadley, James M. Thompson an his wife Margery of Westfield, and Ann Marie Fite and her husband Kevin of Holyoke, his grandchildren, Jennifer, Alex, Nick, Patrick, Haley, Ethan, and Adam, also his great grandchild, Eric. He was predeceased by his brother Ernest and his former wife Irene (Warden) Thompson. The funeral for David will be held on Friday morning at 11 am in the Ryder Funeral Home followed with burial in Evergreen Cemetery both in South Hadley. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in his name to the, MSPCA, Western New England Animal Center, 171 Union St., Springfield, MA 01105-9920. RYDER FUNERAL HOME 533-1735

No.Dave was a big guy.He never jigged.Strickly a tip-up man.
