I just returned from scouting! I saw 3 longbeards with a bunch of hens. Can't wait for Spring turkey season.
Most of my Turkey spots are in Western Ma (Shelburne, Buckland, Ashfield, Deerfield). I never connected with a large Tom last year in Belchertown but am going there tomorrow to check on him! He eluded me many times but I have him figured out this year!
Ended up with a 14lb and a 17lb jake last year. Hoping to connect with a big one this year!
Biggest bird I have shot so far was 21 3/4 lbs. We should have some big birds this year with the light winter!
Good Luck!!!!!!!

saw the same bird my dad missed last year sunday night at my uncles. was playin on the swings with the kids when i heard it gobble. walked out back and gave some owl hoots, and sure enough it gobbles back, same bird as last year, even bigger. saw its track in the snow over the winter and it was bigger than my hand!

I'll be out looking for a gobbler, I had one last year responding to my call. But he never came within the kill zone. There should be good numbers due to the warm winter.

Went scouting this morning before work and saw two sets three of Toms in two different areas. The spots were no more than 2 miles apart...birds looked real healthy!!!!

Nice I was out a couple of days ago scouting in Otis didn't see one. But saw alot of fresh/old deer sign. I don't know about the rest of you guys but I occansionally run into this problem. I'll see the opposite of what I'm hunting. Like last year I saw over twenty turkeys in a flock together during deer season. They walked only yards away from my stand. This turkey season I'll probably see alot of deer.
