How Did You Hear About MAanglers.com? I am looking to see how members learned about MAanglers.com. Some of the members have been on this site since the day it began and some have recenlty joined. MAanglers.com has been operating for almost a year. So I am looking a new ways to improve MAanglers.com, and get the word out about the site to others who might be unaware of us. I am also looking to gain some advertisers from the Eastern Part of Massachusetts so if any members from the Eastern Part of the state would like to help me out we can discuss this thru pm.

Also what would you like to see in the coming Months at MAanglers.com. Do you like the Contest we run, or would you like to see something else. All suggestions will be taken and thought about. Some we will be able to get to and others will be taken into consideration and used at other times. I need some ideas to help me get thru the winter months if winter ever decides to hit the northeast.

Some suggestions I have recently recieved, the addition of a online Chat Room linked through the site similiar to IM, additional forums, alternating tournaments not just making the site a one fish site but multi-specie. I would like to keep the forum based for the Massachusetts Sportsman/Sportswoman.

Thank you all for your great reports and photos over the last 12 months. I am available anytime thru pm just ask and I'll do my best to help out.

my wife found info on MassLive, i don't see how we can make an even more multi-specie site, i mean you have Crazy Joe's panfish tournaments, my bass tournament, the pike one in the spring, i just don't know were people are getting this is a one fish site......
at ANY TIME anyone can speak up about a tournament they would like to try and put together, and i'm sure we all would do everything to try and help.
I would like to see more get togethers like the one GillFinn put on, but i would like to see more members show up, and speak up...

I found it through MassLive.com.....I like the format the way it is, I can sit down at any given time and "catch up" on everything and everyone....if you have a chatroon, it might discourage the "permanent" posts and reports

I found it while searching for a website like this for Mass. I couldn't find anything until I found this one! It was small at the time but has grown into something special!

Big bean told me about the site,so word of mouth.I would like to see a direct link to click on for Maangler gear to buy.Right now to buy stuff I would have to search for the thread for it.Unless of course there is already a link and I just missed it?Members wearing shirts hats sweatshirts jackets...etc in my opinion would be great advertisement. When out on the water or at a ramp and seeing other anglers fishing or putting a boat in I wonder are they a member? So I was thinking how about Maangler flags or bumper stickers for are boats/trucks?

Not being a computer buff, I had to hear by word of mouth and that was from Yote Buster. What I do like about the site are several things. Views, ideas and experiences shared. No matter how much you fish or what you know someone out there knows more than you about a certian species, fish a lure or bait, places to fish, people out wanting to go fishing with anther angler, etc. I can muddle through my E-mail and will never be a camera buff. I have a camera somwhere, but a camera doesn't excite me.

Crazy Joe told me about it,actualy told me numerous times till signed up. I like the site the way it is. I am planning on having my oldest daughter put www.Maanglers.com (http://www.Maanglers.com) on my kayak ( she is a union sign painter) Keep up the good work.

I found out about it when I had a vision about 2 years ago. I had very little experience in websites and tried to make a cheap free forum but that had little success. Then about a year later in the fall last year I started buy purchasing a .com name and getting a few things planned out. The site didnt officially launch till the beginning of January and things were still very basic and problematic. However those that joined early on never gave up on the idea of making this a successful site. Thanks to them and all that are regulars on here, this site has become a great success. We still have many things to improve on but thats just part of anything in life. Again thank you all for being a member of the MAangler Family.

i found the site from a link on masslive(knotreely im pretty sure)thanks knot.Thumbsup reading thru responses here i agree with most. a great site with a lot of good people and info. kurt made a point about the live chat room taking away from permanent posts and reports -good point, i like the pm . keith looking for a link to apparel and gear -another good point. jeff-multi species- i agree and think you guys do very well there. the multi species aspect is geographical for the most part - people east=salt - people west=panfish, bass, trout, pike - not to say we dont salt fish and they dont fresh fish but the majority of our fishing is based on where we are. if we had the ocean as close as the oxbow would you fish more in fresh or salt? i like the get togethers - they=beer! Glad to see that the word is spreading both my word of mouth and by links setup in various other forums. All links in various forums are given by permission from the sites owners. If anyone decides to create a link in their signature for our site on another please ask the owners. Sometimes it frowned upon unless asked first.

The Apperal has its own thread in the Buy and Sell Forum. Shirts have a thread and Hats have another. They are at the top, I think members will be really excited about the design on the Shirts because I know I am. Once I get them I'll post a picture in the appropiate thread.

Keep on letting me know about how you found MAanglers.com, or what you would like to see possibly in the future. All ideas will be thought about, and finally Thank you, and Have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.

We heard about the site from Martha Stewart while serving time at the Federal Prison with Martha in Danbury CT. I heard about maanglers from an old friend, Doug, at the Chicopee boat ramp one Sunday morning. Since you asked for suggestions, I have trying to find out how to contact and speak to a human maangler to ask specific questions about the striper tournament. I can't initate a human contact, and I have tried pm's, listed my phone number, I hope that there are really maangler humans out there(as opposed to computers).

CT fisherman was ready to kick me off for my negative views on Mike Iconelli ( the cheater) and getting really into it on things like life jacket safety ( especially with kids). So when I read about this site, I decided to move over and be more positive and try to be funny ( at my expense of course). I have since gone back to Ctfisherman as it has a ton of helpful info and I still fish Ct alot. Obass was first to respond and take me fishin on the Housey for stripers, Thanks Bud!

I found it buy doing a web search for Massachusetts fishing forums.
I have belonged to other similar sites in the past and do like this one the best. I think I prefer this site the best because it is constantly being populated. Since joining, there's never been a day when clicking "NEW POSTS" didn't produce at least a handful of new posts and/or response to existing posts. For me - that is the success of this site - the constant activity.

There's one possible suggestion. It's pretty safe to assume that while the great posts and great stories are fun to read - lets face it - we're all a bunch of picture junkies! Other sites have had "trophy rooms" or a section that was simply a library of photos, along with some very brief information about the pic. I do not suggest that it would replace posting photos along with the stories - but maybe a photo gallery of some sort. How often is the slide show on the main page updated? Maybe that feature is already here on the site - it just needs to be promoted more on every page, not just the main page, and updated more often.

my two cents.

Moderators - keep up the great work.Thumbsup

Thanks guys, for all your reports and comments. We should be updating the slideshow soon. Although we do have a photogallery most of the members use photobucket. But maybe a forum for photogalleries, I've seen a few on a couple of other sites I belong to and they get a ton of pic's.

Thanks for the suggestions.

don't remember exactly.

might have been one of the guys on new england shad or maybe the other way around.

anyone know what happened to that site?

being from se nh/se mass am not able to fish the sites most of you do (did do one conn/chicopee river trip (wading/from shore) last spring for shad) but have met many really great people, on line, fished with one so far.

love the posts and the pictures even more.

even though been fishing since 1949/50 learned much from my visits here.

for instance, just learned all those fish that have thrown the hook, after a good fight, over the years, weren't lost, they were long distance releases!

who would have thought?

know there are some tournaments at local sites but what's this about a pike tournament?

don't ice fish, so is it an open water event?

fish from a kayak, so would love to know of any kayak tournaments.

being retired lets me go anywhere, anytime.

thanks to all who make this site possible.

keep up the good work!
