to eat them at an "alter"....might consider getting them blessed 1st.:D
Sorry...couldn't resist.

Actually the best "old way" was to freeze the fish/fillets in water, blocks of ice to prevent freezer burn.

Now a day I guess the vacuum seal storage bag systems are the was to go. They suck all the air out of the bag for a vacuum seal which is the best.

Don't really know what works better. The old way is cheaper!:)

The best way to freeze fish is whole. If you don't plan on eating them for a while. Wrap them in plastic wrap as tight as possible them in tin foil double wrapped.NEVER thaw fish in microwave, put them out in the fridge a few days before you plan on eating them,They will thaw slowly and when you clean them the flesh will be firm and you won't loose and flavor. If you have BIG fish and you filet them. The vacume sealing way is the way to go.But,you also can use the fisrt method above.after you do the plastic rap and foil on the fitels wrap DRY news papper around them and they will last up to 3 months.Hope this helps.Grinning1

The vacume way is to put the fish filets on paper towels and pad dry them on both sides before you vac seal them. whole fish, wash them pad dry,and seal.
here' some other tips.

I tried the vacumn and have trouble ., seems the fish is to wet to vacumn. Any way to fix this problem?, thanks. what i do is first layer the fish with paper towels then fish towels fish towels then put them in fridge for a half hour or so take out fish then put them in the food saver bag now here is the trick i use a half of paper towel folded the long way twice at the top, any moister that is pulled up is caught in the towel, done right with a good seal i am still eating cod from last year.................
