View Full Version : Rear deck replacement.

well, i think i found what maybe 2 soft spots in the rear deck in my basstracker, how do i go about getting it replaced? i think i can handle the recarpting, i just want to get the deck replaced, i don't fish back there, but i plan on taking as many other people and members as i can next season and i would hate for them to fall in.Sad1
so any help would be AWESOME!!!

whats the deck made of? and how perfect do you want it? most marinas around here sell carpet or you can get at BPS. Rip it out, use a marine grade plywood and a staple gun and you are all set.

wood, it's not the carpet i can't do, it's replacing the wood i can't.

its easy! see if you can find where the screws are in the carpet and undo the deck. go to the lumber yard and find marine grade plywood and use the old deck as a template, trace the old deck, cut the new one, put the carpet on and a some stainless screws later, you are back in business

well, i just found out that the rear deck is aluminum and not wood, so i guess i shouldn't worry about is breaking, i still think it has a bit much movement to it.
