So, my grandfather and Uncle used to do some serious Lake Trout and Bass fishing back in there day! My Uncle passed away two years ago and my father was going through his attic the other day doing some cleaning...and found some serious tackle!!!Beerchug
I have no clue what some of the brands even are but hopefully someone on this site can point me in the right direction.

This photo is of a Penn Trolling reel from the early 70's...it weighs like 6 lbs...all steel!

I have two of these...Mitchell 300 spinning reels with extra spools!

http://photos.maanglers.com/albums/userpics/10003/normal_DSCN0996.JPG

These I believe have something to do with downrigging??? They have colored ledcore line and are about 7 inches in diameter! They appear to mount on a rod though?

http://photos.maanglers.com/albums/userpics/10003/normal_DSCN0998.JPG

The following reel has the name "Pflueger Bond" on the side of it! It also is a trolling reel!

http://photos.maanglers.com/albums/userpics/10003/normal_DSCN0999.JPG

The following lures are all new never been used! I also have a bunch of Rapala lures still in there original boxes...that sold for... $.69 cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!Smashhead You can't buy one for less than $3 now!!! Alot of these lures had tags still on the boxes with dates!!! Some sold as far back as April, 1964!!!!!!!Notsure Unreal!!!!

These pictures only break the tip of the iceberg...there is a ton of stuff ie. flashers, lures, flys all for lake trout fishing! And a ton of bass stuff!

Hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed opening the tackle boxes!!!

Nice find Tacoma's Dad. I would keep those lures in the box those could be worth quite a bit. The penn reels are awesome. Cant wait to see more.

Tacoma

You got some nice stuff there. You will be able to make a set up for trolling for trout and salmon. Those are some nice lures I would leave them in the box on a shelf. The big reels are called moching(sp) reels. And yes you use them on a pole.

Wow nice stuff, go on Ebay and search for each item to see what they are going for!

Be aware that the Hawaian Wiggler you have may be worth a great deal of money. Check out some collector's web sites or the Nov. issue of Bassmaster Mag., pg. 84.

Those are some great old lures !!

I love Mithcell 300 reels. I lost my two to a fire this summer http://www.maanglers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1102 (http://www.maanglers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1102)
They arn't worth much ( >$10 on EBay) but they don't make them any more. If you guys would like to part with one I would be psyched to purchase one from you.

If you decide to part with one of the Mitchell 300's, please let me know. Love to give one to my new grandson (born 3 weeks ago).

Some of those old lures are worth money. Especially the ones still in the boxes that haven't been used. Old fishing tackle has become very collectable especially if any of the lures are the old wood ones. I have a wood Heddon Crazy Crawler from the late 50's that is worth about $35.00 on e-bay. The old mitchell 300's are great reels virtually indestructable. (except the bail springs) In there day they were the best and will still give many newer reels a run for thier money.

Tacoma, Nice collection, I have some old stuff handed down to me also, once my bar is finshed in my basement, I will be displaying them on the wall and shelves. They are worth money, but worth more to me to keep in my family....Hold on to them, as excited as you are now, your children or great grand children will be equally excited some day to find your collection!!!

Those wooden plugs are worth a fortune and that fortune may not be that small. Definately some nice looking gear, but don't use those wooden pllugs. It would be a good idea to get them appraised. Nice stuff!!!!

Vintage stuff sweeeet!!! Its not every day that your run across that stuff. I grew up on mitchell reels just like that and they always worked like a charm.

I definetly plan on using the reels...they are like brandnew! I am going to store the lures until I have a game room to display them!
