Well, sat in my stand from sun up to sun down on Saturday with a little scouting from 10AM til 12PM. Scouting didn't yiled too much, but the morning sit I had a nice six pointer come in. He had palmated forks with decent brow tines but was only a yr and a half buck, small body. I actually rattled thi one into about 50 yds and the doe bleat brought him to 20, but I passed. After my scouting expedition I got back on stand and sat for about an hour when I hear a deer walkng in behind me. Looked over my shoulder and he was behind me about 40 yds, he came in right under my stand and I could have jumped on him. He was a nice big bodied four pointer, but I couldn't make up my mind whether or not to shoot. At one point he was 10 yds and 1/4 towards me, at that point I decided if he turned to 1/4 away I would take him....didn't wanna be tracking a deer too far after all the tracking we have done lately. The wind swirled and he jumped back and never offered another clean shot, so he walked off and bedded down about 50 yd away for 3 hrs. He then walked off. An hour later I had a smalled 4 pointer come in and walk by, but as he was behind me I heard another one coming, as I slowly turned I saw a big body, but no head. He moved off and I couldn't get him in, but he may have been a shooter. All I wanted was a doe, and I ended up seeing 4 bucks? Anyhow it was a great day.

all that activity i would have fallen out of the tree with my heart pumping and body shaking. always got excited when they start moving around when I'm in a tree stand. your calmness and selection will reward you soon, venison in the freezer, cooked on the ice. great report

yea, with every deer I saw my heart almost jumped out of my chest. I am not a baseball fan, but I can see why people must love it, the ANTICIPATION! It was the best day I have ever had in the woods, even though I didn't harvest an animal.

Nice report there Sled. It seems from that you guys are hunting on a prime piece of land. I used to have the same luck at the spot that doesn't allow hunting anymore. One day I saw 10 deer total there after a all day sit. But not one of them came close within range. Now that I am hunting a area with limited deer activity. It will be harder for me to pass up any buck as long as their legal, and if they come with in range.
Might be heading out tonight up to my new spot depending If I can get a couple of things done.

Good luck Sean.....a day seeing 10 deer would be the outing of a lifetime. I enjoy watching them and learning from them more than the harvest itself, until I see that monster, which I am still waiting for. I just need a doe as a freezer filler.
