From my previous post i said i would post pics of the guys stand, that i intruded on.. Would you think someone hunts in this thing??. I didnt so i put my stands up near it. How long do you think it was in the tree.

He better lock that lock. Someone might chisel that stand right out of the tree. How long does it take a tree to grow around a cable like that? I'm guessing 4 yrs. (I don't know the first thing about trees though)

YIKES!!! Gotta agree with the Jeremy. I would have thought that was some old timers stand that started bow hunting back with the indians! It take alot of time for a cable to grow into a tree like that!

That stand looks a little familiar...be damned if I can remember where I set it. Was there a powder horn hung above the the stand on a bear claw?Grinning1

Hey, I hope this dude has wears a decent safety harness. Trophy, it's probably double luck that he got booted because if all his stands are like this you'll probably find the guy swinging like a pinata! BTW I bought an API chain on stand about 10 years ago, something like fifty bucks. This guys got 25 of them. Fuzzy math... over a grand in tree stands. must be nice.

That stand has been there a few years..its takes awhile for the lichen to start to grow on stuff and its on the seat...the mice have eaten the seat cover also....my old dog run is on 2 trees and its close to being set in like that cable and its been up 8 years now..the stand has not been sat in this year or the lichen would be gone
