Less pressure on the lakes eastward. More saltwater fisherman so not as many fish freshwater. At least thats my opinion. I agree with you Joe. The fish out on the Cape are insane!!!

I don't know if theres less pressure in the Cape area. I think the herring runs and maybe a little longer growing season produces some big fish.

Agree1 you hit it on the head g. horne. had a trailor on john's pond for 10 years and it was incredible. trout, bass, and herring for the stripers, what the bass didn't eat. wakeby-mashpee, peters, to name a couple.

I have seen some awesome weights fishing T's since "98" in southeastern Ma The State record for a 5 bass limit is 39+lbsYikes out of Mashpee in the early 80's. In recent years there have been some 38+lbs 8 fish limits wieghed in at Mashpee and one that would have gone over 40lbs but they were DQed because they brought in 9 fish. Last year there was a 37+lbs limit weighed in at E.Monponsett in the Freedom TOC.
Heres some pics of big fish weighed in from the cape area.

6.5lbs from Weququet ABA T a couple weeks ago

Nice fish. How about ice fishing? I have some friends tell me that winters are usually a little warmer than than Western Mass so ponds freeze later.

Ice fishing here, IMO, is better than the reports i get from out west. I dont know if its because we may have bigger bass, but either way, i dont care what im catching.

I hear ya Joe both have alot of great water with some really big fish. Ockachobee is nice but the everglades are top notch. Fish the glades quite a few times.

Greg those are some really great bass, very healthy looking and BIG. Two great qualities

Joe go to canada i have been to both. Caught a lot of different fish more than I did on the the Big O. Canada doesn't have to real costly if you do a self guided trip. We stayed at a provential park and camped for a week had a ball catching hammer hamdle pike, walleyes and white fish never mind all the eildlife. I was great getting woken up by Loons calling as they are flying over the tent or seeing a pair of otters fishing in the strream and finding the bear tree that wasn' t a bear tree when we went down the trail.
