There is a report on Ctfisherman.com of another monster/possible MA state record that was shot yesterday. Here are the details by one of their members:

He told me he got a nice buck with the bow this morning and to come over and check it out. Well after work i stopped by to see his dear. He got a nice one all right. This is a true monster at 274 lbs. 8 pointer that is not a typo it was 274 field dressed. It was weighed in at an offical Ma. weigh station and he is waiting confamation of a new Mass state record. The old record if my info is correct is 270 lbs. I am going to get some pics in the morning and will post them then. He has it hanging in front of his barn by the rack. With the back hoofs touching the ground measuring to top of the head at the base of the rack it is 9 feet, the neck is 31" around and standing height is 48" to the back. He also told me live weight before field dressing and i think he said it was 312 lbs.
I still can't believe the shear size of this deer. The biggest buck i have ever seen before this one was a 209 lb 9 point taken in maine 15 years ago. All i can say is WOW that is a massive deer for this part of the state...</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
