Earlier this year Frank Sousa, Outdoors column in the Republican newspaper mention this forum in his column. I felt that a thank you was in order so I e-mailed him with what is below.Thanks1
Never know....maybe we will get another mention?Beerchug
Frank,
Early this spring I wrote you about a Massachusetts Fishing forum maanglers.com that was started by a high school student in Westfield. I asked if you could mention something about the forum and it's internet site address. At the time of my writing you I think we, maangler.com, had around 30 members.
As of today, we currently have 546 members and we keep growing little by little. I believe that a large thank you is in order because I believe the growth of the web site, is in a large part due to your writing about the forum in your Sunday column.
There is a wealth of information on the forum, from fishing both salt and fresh water, hunting, ATVing, classified sale section, fly fishing, tournaments, angling partners, angling techniques, boating tips, photography contests, and a general section for members to sound off in addition to many different forum sections. Members needing someone to fish with have been able to hook up with other members to go out for a day or just a few hours. This has been great for members who don't have boats or to help defray the cost of a day on the water.
There have been a couple of get togethers for members, one at the Brimfield Reservoir in Sturbridge, and another on the river mid summer this year at the Chicopee boat launch. There are a bunch of us going out on 29 October on Walsh's Deep Sea Charters for some ground fishing.
The young fellow that started the forum, his moniker on the forum is JayW, is now a freshman up at UMASS. He has done a great job in keeping the forum organized and flowing smoothly.
Anyway I just want to let you know that we give you a hearty thank you for you mention of the forum in the newspaper.
THANK YOU from all members at....maanglers.com.
