why is it that when people first post on this site its always asking for information(myself included)Smashhead just wondering how many people have done this and what feedback they got.i know theres members who check if you have ever posted before(welcome to the site)Swear1 i was pissed when i first posted(where can i catch fish)Notsure and got some f#&ked up responses but know i now why.i guess u have to give to get.i actually think its funny nowThanks1 what was ur first post?

I don't write many threads or posts and haven't since I have joined the website. My threads are mainly about my grandson whom I call "myfishinbuddy" mostly because I don't do pictures cameras and "barely" this computer and certainly not other websites. Actually there is another reason, I have never seen a kid his age like fishing as much as he does at this young age and have such a tough time getting him to quit. For a younster he has an excellent voculabary, but quit isn't in his.
If somone shares a "honey hole" with me I will not disclose it to anyone else nor do I share all that much of my own favorite spots. So why would you expect them to share with you. Why some of my good pals don't share everything with me. My grandson and found a spot that showed no evidence of anyone fishing it and while he is only 6 yrs old, said "Pappy we can't tell anyone about this except his uncle BJ.
However if you heard of a spot, but don't know where it is, want to know what species are in, etc, I will tell you if in a pm. And I do know a couple of "fishin holes" and can muddle (find) my way to them.

My first post if i remember right was just introducing my self to the 11 other members at the time, now we are over 2000 members strong. the first thread i started was asking about small mouth fishing on the river.

Theothereric, a young man who does "guy" humor with the best of 'em and is also (here's an old-fashioned word and value) a man of integrity, suggested that I have a look at MAanglers a couple of months ago while we were trying to catch a few shad.

I looked it over and liked the vibe so I jumped in and started to post about trips I had made. Responses were positive,generous and gracious. I think it's a great game - once you know someone well enough - to do some bassackwards humor. (See my post about how fishing buddy Scott whupped me in both numbers and size on the Q this season for an example.)

Stuff that's truly mean-spirited, something that makes you think the writer is, no question, a flaming a*****e, well, let him be his own problem. Blow it off.
Understand that this perchjerker probably does not have too many good days himself and is sharing his misery with you because you happened to get in his line of sight.

I am delighted with the good humor and the information that is shared on this
site. Continue. Contribute. Learn. Enjoy.
