How to certify a scale?

I think some scales can be sent to IGFA. I believe they will only accept certain ones, understandably.

I used a calibrated weight to check mine and it was dead nuts. It's a Berkley Digi good to go out of the box.

everyones town has a "weights and measures" person to certify scales and gas pumps, if your population is over 5000. look on the scales at atkins and there should be a signed sticker and phone number, or look at the sticker on a gas pump. it's $25 i think for 2 years

I just hang a 5 lb weight from my digital scale and adjust it so it displays 10 lbs!
