Well my Furnace finally crapped out on me. I knew it was gonna happen sooner or later just wished it was next year. Anyway I am going to buy one soon very soon probably within the next week.

Looking for some suggestions

Should I go thru my oil delivery company, and buy one. The prices start at $2,500.00 Thermo Flow, up to 3,300.00 Thermo Pride if I install the coil for a central AC if not its $3,000.00. The other difference is with the $3,000.00 one if I ever decided to sell my house which I am probably not. I can transfer my warranty to the new buyers.

Or should I try and locate one on my own probably save a $1,000.00.

What is everyone else's experience with Furnaces?

Sean, ours went after about 20 years of use a few years back. I dont really remember if we bought it or then had it installed but Im pretty sure we had Lou's do it. Ill ask my Pop's and get back to you. Its a lousy thing to happen sorry about your furnace going.

there are some talented people that could handle that and save the money, you might be one. or maybe there's someone here or reading this and does this on the side at a fair price for you whom has read this or has heard of your dilema. i myself did not have the talent or time (3 years) ago to try this and i went with the central. I went with the get it done by the professional people, job done right away, get a warranty, pay the extra. there's time when you can pay and there's times when you can'T.

Sean #1 is that installed for 3.300? I'f not i would buy eles where and with the money saved hire a plumber to install it you still save money cause you would of had to pay the other guy too.I would also go with AIR&HEAT.Hope this helps you a little.I'f you can get me details on what you want maybe i can set you up with a good deal installed.

How many BTU was your old furnace and is the new one larger? If you plan on adding on to the house in the future you may want to consider getting the next size up to handle it. Do yourself a favor, if you plan on staying in your house for a while buy the best you can afford it will be worth it in the long run. I upgraded mine a few years ago and went from 125,000 BTU to 175,000 BTU with 82% efficiency. Utica wet base boiler with tankless hot water and a becket burner, it's been almost 10 years and no problems.

Most oil fired burners can be fired with a few diffrent nozzles that = diffrent fire rate (gph) that = BTU. Find out the rate of you old burner and compare to the new. You can easily change them up or down.

Sean Don't do anything just yet, I will Pm you Tommorow......A few questions do you have central air now? How many sqft is the house? I'm assuming Forced hot air? My Uncle runs one of the biggest Heating and Air conditioning buisness's around and I may be able to hook you up with a moonlighter and furnace at cost or below if we can get one with a scratch or dent!
