I was leaving to go work today. The same thing everyday. On my way down the driveway my neighbor was yelling to me I had a moose in my back yard. I live in holyoke, so I though OK let me go check this out. Went into the house and I could see this huge moose. I yelled to the kids and out on the deck we went to look at this moose about 7 feet tall. As soon as it seen us it took off running. I was not able to get any pics sorry as I didnt think there would be a moose in my back yard. Once I thought about a pic is was gone. What the heck kind of a chance do you get to see a moose in your back yard in holyoke.

The chance is getting better and better. There are more of them around than you think. The Quabbin is loaded with them.

A few years ago, there was one shot behind HCC Swear1 and there have been a few right in downtown Westfield.

Interesting sighting. I used to live in Holyoke, right along 91, and saw half a dozen deer in the 50 foot wooded margin between my house and the fence to the highway. Must have been lost ... like that moose.

I saw one off of East Mountain Rd. in Westfield last summer. Thought it was a horse that got out of its enclosure at first. With all the woods up there by the reservoir and mountain it doesn't surprise me. It's definitely cool to see though.

Sweet! Put some tasty oats out in your back yard and get the 306 loaded! I love Moose meat! Grinning1Grinning1Grinning1
