Yesterday I went with a friend of mine to the Sportsmans Show at the Eastern States. It was basically the same as the other years. Mostly fishing charters and hunting charters advertising their services. The thing that stinks is you spend $15 before you even enter the door (I had the whopping $1 discount coupon). I did happen to find a very good deal on a pair of tipups that I couldnt pass up. 1 tipup for $3 or 2 for $5. I took the 2 for $5 deal. http://photos.maanglers.com/albums/userpics/10007/normal_fishingshow.jpg

I was looking for a nice cod combo rod but didnt find anything in my price range. I enjoyed watching the archery shows and looking at the mounted bucks.

I went to the show this morning, bought a couple of things here and there. Picked up one of the free On the Water Magazines. There is a good article in the Magazine concerning Striper fishing on the Ct River in the Spring. It has alot of good information for the beginner striper fisherman, and If your looking to get out this spring I would suggest taking a look at it. Other than that had a good time, and can't wait for spring.

Bpapi,
Did they have the 17point non-typical there that was shot in Ashfield Ma? A 17 year old girl shot it? My brother saw her with it at the farm by his house. He thought one of the guys he knew got it but it ended up being this girl...wicked awesome! You can see the deer on

Tacoma, there might have been but I wasnt really paying attention to the peoples names who shot the bucks. It was a really nice exhibit and there were so many beautiful mounts hanging up.
