hey everyone,just wanted to check in and check the 500 new posts i had,


I graduated bootcamp friday and went into the city for the weekend...

its currently 0410 and im sitting in the USO at Ohare airport in chicago... my flight isint until 1300 so i got a while.... by 2000 ill be in pensacola FL... I cant wait. What1



well, i had to get on a bus at 1 am to get here so im going to get some sleep, ill check in later i hope everyone is doing well,

still waiting in the airport... only 6 more hours till my flight, nothing to do except drink starbucks and walk around, not at the same time tho... thats a no no... but other than that, being in uniform has its +s i got a coffee paid for, and while i was on the phone a captain came over and gave me a 20 dollar phone card... after being in boot for the last 2 months you realise that the way some ppl dress or act in public really annoys you.... kinda weird to think that i havent been on a cpu, or cellphone or had tv for the last 2 months, now it just seems like watching tv is a waste of time.

I am also going through fishing withdrawls, i think this is the longest i have gone without fishing in 3 years... the first thing i bought was a BASS magazine. lol.... still not the same...

will post updates when i arrive,

Just wondering about this thread.What is the big deal here.Back in my day you were expected to join the armed forces sever your country and be done with it .Matt its cool you joined passed boot camp and all but really no big deal a million guys have done this and been there.

yote i got to take issue with you on this one.

1st, in my day, and probably yours, (64 - 68) there were some who volunteered but most didn't.

2nd, most of my friends never joined, but some got drafted.

3rd, back then the vietnamese didn't attack us, but al-quida (sp?) did.

4th, if young people like mat hadn't enlisted who would be hunting them down, like my nephew greg, 2nd marines, who's picture is on my signature below???

not trying to say im doing anything amazing, just wated to catch up with some people and share my adventures so far, im having a great time pensacola is a very nice base, the blue angles were flying around today so that was pretty cool to see, other than that just trying to adjust.
