sanibel is nice, and the fishing is easy. buy fresh shrimp, cast out, reel slowly, fish on lol theres a marsh i like that is right before the beach. you can watch schools of fish swim around in it. i fished off a dock intended for kayakers and got some of these lady fish

on the beach, the croaker and white fish are easy pickins, you can get 5, 5 casts in a row. of course, this was all in february, and april is even better. you'll have a shot at permit, catfish and of course the accident fish that are so easy to get in florida

lady fish was a bitch to hold, and my brother doesn't like holding fish lol. you shouldn't have too much trouble getting permit or a sea trout

Orange always looks bigger in the photos (defending danderson aka "Budda"- last photo). I'm not sure what its like in sanibel but you might be able to find a cheap place to rent kayaks. I would definitely try to either get a guide ($$$) or get out on the water in a kayak ($). I know there are some guys on here who fish the keys alot and they should be able to chime in with some tips. Thats going to be a great trip.

Scoop up some sand fleas, and head to the north end of the Island to fish the inlet between Captiva. The "white fish" are whiting and are great eating, the haddock of the south, keep the 14"+. Google Pompano Rigs, Get some #4 Gami circle hooks and orange beads. Pompano are big money fish. PM me and I will call you.

Or live line one of those lady fish, and hang on. :) There are always sharks close to shore on the gulf side if the bait is around.
